Hotpot Best Evers

The other day, an excited Hotpot user pinged me on Twitter to say that he had just discovered the Best Ever medal and that he thought it was a great idea. It’s one of my favorite things about Hotpot, so let’s discuss.
To the right of the fifth star on the desktop app you’ll see a little medal icon. This medal is for the places you consider to be the Best Ever. We all may know a lot of five-star places — great service, delicious food, cozy atmosphere — but only a handful of places can really be one of your Best Evers — one of your go-to spots that never fails to exceed expectations. Do note that you’ll start with just 10 Best Evers, so be sure to use them wisely. You can switch up those 10 at any time though.
Once you pick your Best Evers, expect to see recommendations in search based on those picks. Plus, the Best Evers of your friends will show up in results too:
When you visit a Place page, you’ll see how many times it was named a Best Ever. See the medal at the top of Raines Law Room’s page, just below the address and website information:

Thanks for this post! I love the idea of limiting the amount of "Best Ever" medals any one person can dish out. However, do you guys have a plan on how or when to award more best ever medals, or is it going to be 10 per account?

No plans to up the count at the moment, so for now expect 10 Best Evers per Hotpot account. But interesting suggestion, we'll definitely keep it in mind!
