It's that time of the year: the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is upon us! Millions of people will be lining the streets of Manhattan tomorrow to get a glimpse of the giant balloons and floats.

As a New Yorker, this a particularly exciting time for me. So in honor of this special occasion, I've built a My Map of the parade route - and I’d love your help. More on that in a second.

The route starts at 77th Street and Central Park West, and winds its way south, ending at 34th Street and 7th Avenue. On the map, I've started to plug in place markers indicating some of the restaurants, hotels, shops and landmarks along the route. And of course, as I was plotting it out, I rated all the places I've been to on Hotpot (Macy's: 4 stars! Insieme Restaurant: 5 stars! Bryant Park Grill: 4 stars!).

Here's where you come in. Know of a place along the route that I missed — especially ones you’ve rated on Hotpot? Pin it to the map so we can find it! It’s really easy:

  • Make sure you’re logged in to your Google account
  • Open the map here
  • Search for the business you want to add and go to its Place page
  • Click “Save to...” and choose Thanksgiving Day Parade 2010 from the pulldown (see below)

Hit save and — boom — your place has been added to the map! See a place on there you've been, but haven't yet rated it on Hotpot? Go on, get your rate on and share your recommendations with friends. Send any questions you may have my way to vanessa at google dot com.
