You probably know about the infamous line at Portland’s beloved Voodoo Doughnut, the one of customers that coils down the sidewalk at their downtown location and around the corner. You also might have heard that it rains in Portland. A lot. So on Saturday, we hit up Voodoo to hand out free, hot Stumptown coffee in special limited-edition Voodoo/Google travel mugs to the dedicated doughnut lovers waiting in the pouring rain.
For the rest of December, because Voodoo’s one of our Best Evers, coffee’s on Google. So be sure to stop by their location downtown and grab a cup.
Meanwhile over at Voodoo Too, the shop’s second location, staffers were hard at work making extra special Voodoo Dolls. For every dozen purchased through December at this location, customers will receive a free Voodoo Doll stuck not with the usual pretzel, but a red Google Places toothpick.
Coffee and doughnuts weren’t the only things being talked about that day. Ever since we announced that our “Recommended on Google” window stickers have Near Field Communications (NFC) technology built in, users have been itching to see it in action. People with cutting edge phones like the Nexus S can simply touch their phones to the sticker to find out more information about the business. So we demo’ed this awesome magic at Voodoo:
Missed us? We’ll catch you around town these next few weeks, so stay tuned to our Facebook page and Twitter feed for upcoming event info.
A big thanks to the amazing Voodoo crew for having us!
